St. Mary's County Museum Museum Division - Volunteer Team

Volunteer with the St. Mary's County Museum Division

Do you love history? Do you like meeting people? Would you like to be part of the "behind the scenes" action? Do you have a skill to share?

If so, one can experience such exciting opportunities and more by becoming a member of the St. Mary's County Museum Division Volunteer Team.

The Museum Division is always looking for volunteers to assist with student/group tours, special events, and museum store operations at both St. Clement's Island Museum and the Piney Point Lighthouse Museum & Historic Park.

Time is one's greatest asset! Use your spare time to make new friends and make a difference. Join our family of volunteers for the annual Volunteer Appreciation event where volunteers are honored for their many hours of service that provides quality, personal attention to the museum experience. It's the personal touch that sets us apart!

Teens, High School Students and College Students - You Can Volunteer Too!

Have a blast with the past. If you're a student that must fulfill community service hours for school, consider becoming a member of the Teen Volunteer Team. You will have an opportunity to work with artifacts that have been excavated from St. Mary's County and witness the behind the scenes operations of preserving a historical lighthouse. As a volunteer you will be trained to work as a professional in the Collections Management Area of the Museum.

You must be at least eleven years of age to be a part of the Teen Volunteer League. For more information please, contact at 301-769-2222.

Volunteer opportunities vary at each museum. For more information about volunteer opportunities available, please call the museums at:
