COVID-19 Operation Updates and Changes

|Board of Education||Public schools will remain closed through for the remainder of the 2019-2020 year. St. Mary’s County Public Schools provide a drive-up lunch service Monday-Friday through May 18-May 25. *Please note there will be no school site meal distribution on the Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2020.* Distribution sites are at the following locations from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily. Leonardtown Elementary School, Margaret Brent Middle School, Greenview Knolls Elementary School, and Lexington Park Elementary School from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. |
Meals will be offered to all children 18 years and younger free of charge. Parents and children can drive up to these locations and receive take-home meals.

|Circuit Court||The Circuit Court building is operating with restricted access.|
|College of Southern Maryland||The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) announced that it will maintain a virtual learning environment for its students through the summer spring semester and faculty and staff will continue to operate remotely. Campuses remain restricted to pre-approved and authorized personnel. https://www.csmd.edu/|
|Commissioners||The Commissioners of St. Mary’s County will continue to conduct important County business following social distancing guidelines and tele/videoconference. The Commissioners and County Administrator’s offices will continue to answer the County switchboard 301-475-4200. Emails may be submitted to email@example.com. The St. Mary’s County Government Offices are closed to the public. County operations have been adjusted to accept phone calls, email, drop box (Chesapeake Building, 41770 Baldridge Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650); and US Mail (PO Box 653 Leonardtown, MD 20650). |Congregate Meals||Congregate meals at the Senior Activity Centers are suspended until further notice, are being delivered.|
|Convenience Centers||Six convenience centers and the St. Andrews Landfill operating on a normal schedule with all services available.|
|District Court||Closed effective March 16|
|Home-Delivered Meals||Home-Delivered, shelf-stable meals are being delivered as a two-week supply at this time.|
|Land Use & Growth Management||The Department of Land Use and Growth Management has adjusted operations to accept permit applications and commercial project and subdivision submittals via email, U.S. mail, FedEx, and UPS. Complete permits will be returned to the applicant upon receipt of credit card or check payment. Packages can be mailed to P.O. Box 653, Leonardtown, MD, 20650. |Landfill||The six convenience centers and the St. Andrews Landfill are on a normal schedule.|
|Library||In accordance with Governor Hogan's 3/23/2020 announcement, St. Mary's County Library is closed until further notice. The book drop remains closed. Please keep any materials you have checked out until the libraries reopen. There will be no fines on any materials that were due from February 1, 2020, until the time the library reopens. We are increasing our digital collection and upping Hoopla checkouts to 6 per month. We are posting some programming, which can be viewed on our Facebook page.|
|Non Public School Bus Transportation||Canceled effective March 16|
|Other||The Treasurer’s Office is closed to the public, Please call 301-475-4200, ext. 3300 for dropbox instructions. Online payment options are available at www.stmarysmd.com/treasurer. Please utilize MVA online tag renewal services. Liquor license renewals and Senior Tax Credits should be mailed to St. Mary’s County Treasurer, P.O. Box 642, Leonardtown, MD 20650.|
|Patuxent River Naval Air Station||Operating at Force Health Protection Condition Bravo|
|Recreation & Parks||All parks remain open mainly for walking, running, bicycling and exercise.|
Eight (8) playgrounds are open and will remain open provided there is appropriate social distancing at each playground. Sanitation will be completed weekly at Baggett, Dorsey, 5th District, Nicolet, Chancellors Run, Elms Beach, Lancaster Parks as well as Wieck Playground.”
Organized sports practices and games are not allowed.
Informal contact sports are not allowed. Public Landings are open for normal operations yet all guidance regarding social distancing must be observed. Waterfront parks are open. Wicomico Shores Golf Course is open.

Senior Information & Assistance appointments will not be conducted in person. Individuals are encouraged to conduct business by phone or email, or to reschedule appointments for a time when Senior Activity Centers have reopened.
|St. Mary's County Regional Airport||The airport is operating but the terminal is closed to the public. Food trucks at the airport have suspended service until further notice.|
|STS Transit||Temporarily discontinued: Rt. 3, Rt.6, Rt.14, Rt.7 on Saturdays. |
