On Tuesday, October 20, 2009 the Recreation and Parks Board, County staff and disc golf enthusiasts officially cut the ribbon for the new disc golf course at John G. Lancaster Park. The new disc golf course is located on the former “Lexington Manor” south parcel property, and is accessed via Lancaster Park off Willows Road in Lexington Park.
Disc golf is similar to regular golf except it is played with discs similar to Frisbees®. Disc golf uses baskets mounted on poles instead of traditional golf holes. The game can be played on a year-round basis and is for participants of all ages and abilities. Maps of the course can be downloaded from the county’s website at
