CHANCELLOR’S RUN REGIONAL PARK RECOGNIZED BY USSSA
The St. Mary’s County Department of Recreation and Parks and the Recreation and Parks Board are pleased to announce that Chancellor’s Run Regional Park was recently selected by the United States Specialty Sports Association as the Maryland Complex of the Year. The award was publicly presented to staff and the Board by Mr. Steve Ramey, Slow Pitch Assistant UIC/Masters/Area Director for USSSA, during the April 7, 2010 Recreation and Parks Board meeting.
The USSSA presented the award to the facility because of its dedication to keeping the fields in such excellent condition, the helpful staff, and it’s commitment to the sports of softball and baseball. The State Director has been to the facility many times throughout the years and has always been impressed by the park and the condition of the fields. Tyrone Harris, Special Facilities Coordinator, and staff at Chancellor’s Run, were thanked for their dedication and hard work in making the park a premier tournament location in the region.
