Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Playground at Carver Heights Community Park Held on June 8, 2010

The Board of County Commissioners and the Department of Recreation and Parks hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new playground and parking and walkway enhancements at the Carver Heights Community Park on Tuesday, June 8, 2010.  Media Release  http://www.stmarysmd.com/pio/docs/CarverHeights.pdf . The Board also participated in a tour of the Carver Recreation Center and talked to youth enrolled in the after school program and various activities at the Center.

This project could not have been made possible without the original vision from Save the Village, Inc. group and through partnerships with the SMC Department of Economic and Community Development, the Community Development Corporation, and the citizens of the community who provided valuable input during public meetings on the project’s concept plan.
