Teen DrawingThe Teen Center is located in the Loffler and Weisman Room at the Activity Center at Chancellor’s Run Regional Park, located on Chancellor’s Run Road in Great Mills, Maryland. The hours of operation are Friday 5PM – 9PM, and Saturday Noon to 6PM. NO FEE is required but participants must sign-in at the center’s office.  The times may vary on occasion based on nighttime activities and other usage requirements. In many cases, the Center is open for extended hours due to programs, special events and dances.

The Teen Center is designed to provide healthy activities for young people at one location, free of alcohol and drugs, to improve the quality of life for teenagers.  Please call (301) 737-5680 for more information.

MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCES

Have a great time with your middle school friends.  Enjoy music provided by a great D. J.  Food and drinks are available.  Once you enter, you may not leave until your parents come to the door and pick you up or until the end of the dance when all students are released. Dances are chaperoned by Recreation and Parks staff and volunteer parents.  Security also provided by St. Mary’s County Sheriffs’ Department.

NOTE:  There will be NO dance, if school is closed, for any reason, the first Friday of the month. 

Age            Middle school only (6th - 8th grades)
Dates         September 2006 – March 2, 2007
Day            1st Friday of the month
Location     Leonardtown Middle School – Gymnasium
Fee            $5.00 per person
Time          6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

All dances have 20:1 ratio for chaperoning and security provided by the St. Mary's Sheriff’s Department.  There are NO INS and OUTS at the dance.

The St. Mary’s County Teen Center’s Chapter of SADD focuses on abstinence, diversity, HIV/Aids Awareness, drug prevention, and self-respect. SADD is committed to helping teens and youth by providing education and awareness training of the consequences of risky behavior.
