St. Mary’s County Tennis Association Hosts Tennis in the Parks Events
 

The Department of Recreation and Parks has partnered with the St. Mary’s County Tennis Association to bring several Tennis in the Parks events to County parks and facilities this summer.  The most recent event was an introductory tennis activity for youth held at Seventh District Park on July 8, 2008.    

SMCTA will host several other events at parks this summer; please check the SMCTA website at www.stmarystennis.com for additional information.  SMTA has also partnered with Recreation and Parks to bring USTA league tennis programs to the County.  Mixed doubles, gender play, seniors and fall leagues are forming.  Please see the County website at www.co.saint-marys.md.us/recreate/sports/Current/tennis.asp for information.

R&P is proud to report that two new tennis courts are currently under construction at Cecil Park in Valley Lee and two older courts are being resurfaced, providing a total of four courts at this park.  Also, courts at Seventh District Park will be resurfaced later this summer.  All these courts will feature the Premier Court® soft surface to enhance the tennis experience for players of all ages and abilities.
