 Groundbreaking Ceremony for Phase II of Three Notch Trail June 9, 2007

The Board of County Commissioners and Recreation, Parks and Community Services hosted the Groundbreaking Ceremony for Phase II of the Three Notch Trail on Saturday, June 9, 2007.  Attendees included: Larry Jarboe, Tom Mattingly and Kenny Dement representing the St. Mary’s County Commissioners; Senator Roy Dyson; Delegate John F. Wood, Jr.; Hammad Matin, Southern Maryland Field Representative for Senator Ben L. Cardin; Charles County Commissioner Sam Graves; Ms. Karen Smith, SMECO; Recreation and Parks Board members Coleman Hillman and Richard Buckler; Jim Swift, Dan Donahue and others from the Friends of the Three Notch Trail; “Opie the Otter,” from St. Mary’s County Health Department; Kathleen Reif, Director, and other staff, from the St. Mary’s County Libraries; Charlotte Hall residents; County staff; and citizens were present to celebrate the groundbreaking for the next phase of the recreational trail.
