Golf Course Staff Host Eighth Annual Thanksgiving Day Charity Golf Event

Wicomico Shores Golf Course staff hosted the Eighth Annual Thanksgiving Day charity golf event on Thursday, November 27, 2008 The Golf Course staff donated their time to open the course on Thanksgiving Day and waived greens and cart fees for seventy golfers who contributed various non-perishable food and household items for charity. All proceeds were donated to the Catholic Charities St. Clement’s FamilyCenter food bank.  The Family Center, located on Route 242 in Avenue, not only serves the Seventh District community, but also helps citizens in need from all over St. Mary’s County.The Center provides direct aid to individuals and families who face unexpected hardships and need temporary assistance with food, counseling, and utility and rental/mortgage assistance.
