Most of the lighthouse challenge guests take the time for a climb to the top of the Piney Point Lighthouse.

The replica of the Blackistone Lighthouse was included in the Maryland Lighthouse Challenge as an "add on" attraction. Here, a group of passengers aboard the "Samuel M. Bailey" cruise to the south pier of St. Clement's Island for an opportunity to see and climb the lighthouse.

Volunteers for the Maryland Lighthouse Challenge greet lighthouse lovers from across the region and mid-Atlantic who traveled across the state to visit all the land-based lighthouses. The Piney Point Lighthouse received over 800 visitors over the two-day event.
