Formerly known as "Black-eyed Susan Day" the event was renamed and
the focus expanded. Here, Bill Schindler of Historic St. Mary's City
shows guests how the Woodland Indians made cordage. He brought many
items that reflected the life and skills needed by the Native
Americans to survive.

Affectionately known at the "Island Minstrel," local musician
Joe Norris sings songs of St. Clement's Island and the
Chesapeake Bay.

Museum Division employee Sarah Massie (in red shirt) worked a
variety of children's heritage games on the island. Here, Sarah
shows one young man how to play jacks.

Several families brought along a picnic lunch and enjoyed a scenic
meal at the river's edge.

Museum Board of Trustees member Frank Maio shares his knowledge of
the Maryland militia during the 17th century.

The just-completed replica of the Blackistone Lighthouse was open
for tours. Visitors and offered an intimate history of the
lighthouse, tour of the three floors and view from the top!
