POSITION:      Webmaster (Regular Part-Time, 20 Hours Per Week) G-I02, $22.08/hr + FRINGE BENEFITS

DEPARTMENT:     Information Technology

OPENING DATE:   01-27-10        CLOSING DATE:     02-10-10

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  High school diploma or G.E.D. with college or technical training in Information Technology preferred;

Note: Two years or more experience in Information Systems Technology; or equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience, experience with designing HTML and ASP pages, SQL database integration with the web and JAVA applet utilization\optimization.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

       Must have valid drivers license;

       Must pass extensive background investigation with favorable results;

       Negative drug test result from pre-employment drug screen;

       Successful candidate must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States prior to employment.

 

JOB SUMMARY: Designs and maintains web-based information products; performs other duties as assigned.

 

DUTIES:

       Design and maintain overall focus and concept of web-based products in accordance with County goals and objectives;

       Develop, lay out, write/edit, and coordinate with designated staff new sections and features of all the Countys web products;

       Assist in maintenance of County Government corporate applications and other SQL database systems;

       Assist users in determining and implementing updates and additions for the Countys website by performing requirement analysis, determination of data relationships, reporting requirements, and data flow to the user community with program development and/or commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications;

       Perform maintenance of all web server applications and services;

       Serve as the subject matter expert for information and ideas regarding the county web site operation and functionality;

       Research and propose new initiatives which could improve St. Marys County operations or service to the public through web-based solutions as assigned;

       Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

       Ability to gain advanced knowledge of St. Marys County Government policies and procedures;

       Ability to act as a representative of St. Marys County Government to the public;

       Extensive knowledge of system operations;

       Ability to review, evaluate, and initiate appropriate action on technical and legal reports, contracts, and documents concerning departmental matters;

       Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county officials, associates, subordinates, representatives from other agencies, and the general public;

       Knowledge of electronic resources, including the Internet and database information retrieval;

       Ability to operate relevant computer systems, including hardware and software, and office machines.

 

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Work requires no unusual demand for physical effort.

 

Work involves risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, or machines, and/or avoidance of trips and falls, observance of traffic signals, and/or working in moderate to adverse outdoor weather conditions.

  

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:

Hiring Salary: $22.08 per hour. 

FLSA: Non-Exempt
